Tale of a demanding soul

 Tale of a demanding soul

A demanding soul craved everything,
A heart with brain, a brain with riches and riches with heart again.
'What was it like to settle for something lesser', the demanding soul knew none,
But one cuspidal evening and it had to choose one.
Baffled, worried, drunk yet aware it made a choice,
A choice not with the same old obvious voice.
But demanding soul knew no one actually cared,
Indecisive, yet, its decision was never bothered.

Demanding soul eventually chose heart and..... only that,
Leaving its close souls daunted and sad
But demanding soul knew it was the soul that could always demand,
Was neither born for pleasing nor had to ever behold sacrificing hand
'Selfish' and 'centered', the demanding soul was name-called,
Sometimes words bothered but mostly they couldn't swirl
Demanding soul by now had known what was precious,
Happiness and only happiness was the ultimate answer.
Happiness, not for others but for own self first,
Choosing heart was where it found that missing thrust.

Now, demanding soul had a company, it was the heart,
Whenever it demanded happiness, heart gave it that.
Days came when demanding soul wept and demanded smile, heart gave it bigger laugh,
When lonely the soul felt, heart didn't buy it company but itself became its other half.
Finally, demanding soul never demanded as heart already had everything it wanted,
Demanding soul had hands that the riches could have hold,
A head that the brain could have mold.
But it chose the heart instead which didn't just hold or mold,
It stayed with the demanding soul in its lonely chamber about which the soul had never told.
Riches, brain and everything else the demanding soul had left behind
Contentedness was all that was needed and heart was kind
Kind enough that the heart dwelled inside the chamber,
Enslaved itself for the demanding soul forever.
