You know what’s worse than the worst deeds?
Silence.
Silence for one’s own issues,
Silence to stand up for others in need.
Partner abused, but thy silence prevailed,
Screams were heard next door, but thy
silence prevailed,
Unjust in work was witnessed, but thy
silence prevailed,
Friends were disrespected, but thy silence
prevailed,
Your entire dignity was crumbled, Alas! thy silence still prevailed.
Someone isn’t truly mute devoid vocal cords,
But you know what’s worse than Silence?
Hypocrisy.
Who preaches one and does everything else,
Who talks pride but disregards another,
Who talks pride but disregards another,
States empowerment but bashes the other,
Phrases kindness but displays envy,
Speaks up but just when convenient,
Helps needy but for sake of laurels.
Someone isn’t disabled devoid functional parts,
One who won’t care.
One who observes hatred and contempt but won’t care,
Who can aid deprived and helpless but won’t care,
Who breathes on injustices around but won’t care,
Witnesses abuse of power, nature, emotions
and everything but still won’t care.
Someone isn’t truly blind devoid sight,
One is so who closes eyes when he had to
see, alright.
But the world will be truly woeful,
When reigns silence against injustice, rules through
hypocrites over those who don't bother to care about it.
Now isn't that worse than the worst thing?
Maybe not, because we almost forgot,
We are also one of these.
Now isn't that worse than the worst thing?
Maybe not, because we almost forgot,
We are also one of these.
